Alex represents progressive political organizations, nonprofit advocacy groups, labor unions, and candidates for public office. Not only does he help his clients structure their political and issue campaigns, but he provides counsel concerning their broader operations. Alex has extensive experience advising clients on compliance with campaign finance laws, the limits placed on not‑for‑profit organizations, and rules concerning lobbying activity. He also provides his clients with general legal advice on everything from commercial real estate leases to their internal governance.
